*.PLT sounds like HPGL or HPGL2, the Hewlett Packard Graphic
Language for most HP (and many other) Pen (and InkJet) Plotter. Some
CAD packages, most CAM packages and many business graphic software
(Corel Draw, Designer etc., Word too) can import this. I do not know
whether Autocad supports cut and paste with the Windows clipboard, if
yes, you could try to import PLT in one of these applications and
cut'n'paste into Autocad.

Otherwise, you must find something which converts PLT to DXF or DWG.
At least PLT to DXF should be possible with CamCad (I don't know hich
level necessary), CAM350 or many other CAM packages.
