Electroless gold is used for wire bonding applications and only if specified
by the
designer.  The process is to plate electroless nickle and immersion gold
followed
immediately by electroless gold.  The immersion gold is self-limiting to
less than
10 millionths but it lays down enough gold that you can build on it in the
electroless
bath.  Let's try not to use confusing terms like strike gold or flash gold
unless defined.
