I don't mean to sound ignorant, but where did this discussion originate? Maybe its just the mail system here (Groupwise) but every single e-mail that comes in to my mailbox has an attachment. Usually they are nothing and I ignore them. Sometimes I get e-mails that I cannot open with a double click ( Anil Singh's mail is an example ) but I put this down to differences in mail programs.

If catching a virus is such a large concern, why not get some Anti-Virus software? Your IT folks (if you have them) should have the whole virus protection/prevention thing dialed in anyway.

Just a few Friday thoughts,

I do NOT open attachments, from a forum .... period!! If you send them, I
promptly delete them - so why bother?

I understand that most individuals are honest and trustworthy, but all it
takes is one individual with a twisted sense of "humor" (or maybe an
innocent individual passing along something he/she is not aware of) to mess
up a great deal of my work. Rather be safe than sorry.

This approach does limit the ability of individuals to 'express' or
illustrate their dilema, but what other recourse does one have??

Regarding the inclusion of the original message within the reply ... it
makes no diffence to me. I suggest that we make the Subject Line definitive
enough to take the majority of guesswork out of figuring out what the topic
of the posting is.
