I always thought Flash Gold was electroplated. ??????
(Like with minicards)
(Unless your in the UK, then I've heard ENIG called flash
 gold)
What would happen if we standardized all these terms????
Thank god (or buddha..depending) for the internet and
IPC-T-50.

You are getting wrong info.  Too thick means bad solder joints due to gold
embrittlement - and I have seen some pretty ugly assemblies that started
out with thick gold.

Contact gold chemistry suppliers for their specific baths to use.
