Steve:

It's really the same old story. Back in the middle of this here millennium,
it seemed to me that manufacturing was the backbone of American Industry.
People had good paying jobs, everyone was living the American dream, so it
seemed.

Since then, it seems like companies are being run by business systems,
accounting departments, and business schemes that downsize companies to save
a few bucks but let's make the people who are left behind work in the
"Overload" position. I think that the real crux of the problem is that
management in some companies is made up of individuals with impressive
educational credentials, such as MBA's, who think that a company works best
when operated from a textbook using dollars as the bottom line without any
concern for product quality and the manufacturing equipment and tools
required to do it right. These individuals also give themselves accolades
supreme while paying themselves high salaries with very magnanimous titles.

Bottom line is, manufacturing should be the focus of how a company runs its
business, not the business system.

This is only my opinion.
