Lab chemicals have an exemption known as the Laboratory Activities Exemption
(see page 17 of your 1998 TRI reporting forms and instruction book).  Remember
that pilot scale labs and specialty chemical production do not qualify for this
exemption.  Another exception for this exemption is any maintenance chemicals
used to support lab activities (e.g., oils for equipment providing HVAC for lab
or pumps, etc.)
