Dave,

We use a glass coupon to measure the thickness of conformal coat. While it
is not deadly accurate it does give us a pretty good idea of what we've
applied. We take the glass slide and lay it amongst the assemblies being
sprayed, coating it each time we spray past the assembly. After it is cured
we remove half of the coating from the coupon and measure the difference
between the coated half and the uncoated half of the coupon.

The spec has such a wide tolerance that we can tell if it is good from this
measurement.

We tried dip coating but just didn't have much luck. We have found that
spray coating works best for our application. We use both a spray gun and a
select area coater.
