Hello Technetters:

The IPC California Circuits Association is holding technical seminars in
Southern California on Troubleshooting the PWB Manufacturing Process and
Direct Metallization Technology. These two one-day technical workshops will
be held on October 13 & 14, 1999 at the Hyatt Regency Irvine, Irvine, CA.
Both workshops will begin at 8:30 and conclude at 4:30 p.m.

Troubleshooting:
Conventional wisdom holds that as printed board complexity goes up, yields
decrease. This workshop will help fabricators avoid this fate. Every stage
of the PWB process has variables that affect the performance of the finished
product. In this course, these variables will be identified and thoroughly
explained.

Direct Metallization Technology:
Get a thorough understanding of the reliability issues associated with the
metallization of plated electrochemicals through-hole printed wiring boards.
An overview of the various direct plate technologies with be compared and
contrasted to electroless copper. The importance of related processes such
as drilling and desmear will be explored

These workshops will be taught by Michael Carano, Vice President of Technical
Operations for Electrochemicals, Inc. He is a member of and a teacher for
the American Electroplater's and Surface Finisher's Society. He has authored
over 20 articles in the area of copper plating, tin plating, PWB technologies
and the analytical control of electroplating baths.
