Hi Rod,

I would recommend performing weight gains (to optimize oxide build-up) and
weight loss (to optimize acid resistance) on coupons.  Perform these at
least daily.  I assume you'll be using a converter so running acid
resistance tests will give you quantitative numbers as to its ability to
withstand electroless and other processing chemistry.  Some people employ a
simple acid dip test on coupons to see if the converter worked (if it turns
pink it fails) but this method just gives a go or no-go picture as to the
conversion effectiveness.  Many times coupons will pass this color test yet
show excessive weight loss, indicating that the conversion was not complete
and acid attack is still possible.
