Good call, Earl. The dry films just don't have the stability or process
durability to cut it. We largely discontinued use of dry films, as an
exterior coat, a number of years back due to repeated interaction with
cleaning media, fluxes, conformal coatings, and a variety of other problems.
We do use thin dry films as a tenting media, when overcoated with LPI. I'm
also starting to see some of the newer LPI's that will do a satisfactory job
of hole plugging on the smaller diameter vias (<.012" finished).
