Hi ya'll!

Say, I got a few bushels of okra here and I was wonderin' if any of you know
how to...(sorry Ingemar, I'm just joshin' with ya'...) but I bet there was a
few out there that was getting their flame-throwers lit...hehehe, fooled ya'!

Anyhoo, I'm just wondering if any of you know of any subcontractors out there
that do subcontracting for chip-on-board devices. We've got a customer that
has a chip-on-board device that they get made for one of their assemblies
that we build. The problem is that this company is rather large, and the
demand for this part from our customer is rather small in the big scheme of
things. So when they need the part, this big company will build it when they
get around to it...it's really not that much revenue to them, if you catch my
drift...

I know there are smaller subcontractors that do this kind of stuff, and at
the volume that our customer needs, it would be a mutually beneficial thing
for a smaller house. This COB device has regular SMT passive parts on both
sides, three wafers (one on top and two on the bottom), and has a 16-pin DIP
lead-frame mounted on the small PCB that is used to mount the whole device on
a board.

Are there any recommendations of any companies that would do this kind of
work? From bare die to finished product?

This kinda' stuff is kinda' out of my league, but I told a program manager I
would look into it...(and ask the experts!)

Thanx!
