Hi TechNetters!
I am interested in hearing about assembly methods used for insertion of
press fit light pipes (which are used in conjunction with surface mount
LEDs).
Light pipe material is polycarbonate and two posts on the base of the
unit are press fit into the PCB to secure the part.
A simple hand-tool has been suggested by the manufacturer (CML), but we
would like to understand if there are any more robust / efficient
methods currently being used (fixturing, automation).
Any details would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Charles Elliott.
