I used superthin thermocouples for measuring a)the temp just under the chip in a 200W transistor b)registering the temperature f(T) 1mm from the welding when we passed with the YAG. We laserwelded the very top of two put-together wires with a one 5ms shot from a 100um beam. and this worked perfect. Used these also for Multicores oven checker. Saw no differense between these and soldered. /Ingemar

Hi,
Does anybody know what is the variation between a thermocouple tip which
is welded and one which is soldered or manually twisted ?
Rgds,
Lucas
