Depending on what component you are talking about could change
what the D stands for ( I believe).
As for IC. it could mean DIP Packaging.
If you are talking about Electronic components I would ( When I deal with Suppliers ) go to their Catalog for packaging information.
If that did not work I called them Direct.
You should be able to get the information from your purchasing
dept.
Oh yes It could mean DEMO
