Does "NFPA" stand for "National Fire Protection Agency"?

Conductive flooring can also be used in areas with spark free flammability
requirements, such as flammable material storage areas. ESD requirements are
different for these applications, since the goal is to prevent a fire, as
opposed to protecting electronic circuitry.

Make sure the flooring meets the electronics industry requirements.

What should the specification be for an ESD epoxy floor coating system? I
will be starting with a new concrete floor surface. Is there a
specification for the epoxy material? A sales quote indicated that the
material will be 23 mils thick, applied in two coats over a base coat of
100% solids epoxy. In addition, I am really concerned because the quote
said "Please note that the NFPA does not require grounding straps or
other personal grounding devices in areas that have a minimum of 40
sq.ft. of uninterrupted ESD flooring". So... I don't need foot straps???
What about "slip resistance"? This is a new facility in the construction
stage and I would like to utilize an epoxy floor covering to replace my
mats. I would greatly appreciate input from those who have knowledge of
or experience with this.
