Hello everyone,

We just attended a very enlightening Hal User Group Meeting on Friday
August 20th. In
addition to the HAL related projects already in progress, the concern for
testing of no-lead solders was utmost on everyone's mind.

With over 70% of the PCB's today being coated using HAL, there is a need to
evaluate the various coating alloys in a HAL application. In an effort to
support our customers, and the industry, we have set up a dedicated line for
producing and testing no-lead finishes using HAL.

For the next 30 days, we will coat your bare copper test panels with Sn3.5Ag
using our dedicated HAL line. We request the panels to be an minimum of 12
inches in one direction, but no more than 28. We respectfully request that
you supply between 2 and 30 samples. Please note that the panels must be
bare copper. Reworks or alternative finishes can not be processed.

We will retain one sample for our records and XRF data collection and return
the balance to you for your evaluation and testing. It is important to note
that our intent is to let you, the Customer, perform your evaluations in the
manner you are accustomed to so that variation can be minimized, and you
will obtain faster
data response to the testing.

However, we are very much interested in exchanging results and developing a
specific test program with
anyone interested in participating.

After 30 days, another lead-free alloy will be put on-line and the offer
will be repeated with the new alloy. We welcome your feedback on what alloy
to evaluate each time.

There is no charge for the service, and we ask that samples be sent to:
