Hello Nicholas,

The best place to get some direction on repairs is IPC-700C. It gives
guidelines and instructions on how to do most any repair. What's going to
really determine if you can repair a board, what types of repairs you can do,
how many repairs, etc., is the assembly itself. What does it do? What's the
environment that it will be operating in?
Is it a production board that will be going to a customer? Or is it a
prototype that is just trying to be proved out?

Trace repairs can be kinda' tricky sometimes, using jumper wires may put a
delay in the signal that could cause a high-speed designed board not to
function properly, or cross-talk with other traces or act as a antenna and
create noise in the circuit.

Whenever a board has been damaged, a design engineer needs to determine
whether or not a board can tolerate repairs. The IPC-700C is good to list out
the things that one needs to think about before attempting repairs. If it is
determined that a repair can be made, it also details how to go about it.

Hope this helps,
