There probably is no antioxidant in the good reflow oils, and they last
somewhat longer, but not vast amounts more. The polymer matrix is different,
and they are designed to work as a fuse/reflow oil, from the ground up. We
experiemented with various antioxidants and found no effect.

If cost per gallon, and CHEMICAL cost per panel is your criteria, you are
never going to beat PEG 600. The good fuse oils are designed to be low
odor/smoke and to rinse readily, and that is what you are really buying. If
you can get the Dexter oil at $12.++ per gallon, you are getting a VERY good
deal, and if the PEG 600 is more appealing, you are wasting your time looking
for a better deal.

Life of the oil is so variable, depending how the customer uses it, that it
is impossible to even discuss. Factors like temperature of use, dragout,
type of activator in flux, regularity of use (does it sit hot, unused for
long periods?) and even amount of oxide on panels as they go into the oil all
affect the life of the oil, so it makes it impossible to even guess.

Remember, it is the heat, not the number of panels that destroy an oil.
