Hi,

Surely it depends on the nature of the defects and the scope of the analysis
i.e. if the assembled board is part a system then it could be classified as
a defective board (one defect). If it is only the PCB then again it is one
defect. However, if you refer to an assembled board after various processes
have contributed to the defects then they should be classified as being
process specific hence 1, 2, or 3 defects.

Regards
Grant

Hi Dave,

You should count 1 defect (Major/Critical) instead of 3 though there are 3
defects on same board.

Subject: [TN] Defect Count

Technetter's,

When reporting defects, do I count all defects individually or do I count
the number of bad circuits. For example, if I have a circuit which
contains 3 defects, do I count this as 3 (for the 3 defects) or 1 (for the
single, bad circuit).

Thanks in advance for the clarification.
