I agree with Bernard completely. I signed up to this forum to see what was
going on in the lead free arena. So far I have received around 30 posts, of
which most are of absolutely no value. Lead Free is going to happen, like
it or not, so lets stop rehashing the reasoning behind it and discuss the
alternatives. Collectively, lead free can be accomplished reasonably.
Independently, lead free can also be accomplished, but at what cost!

I think a lot of the comments on the forum are beginning to sound like poor
us -' the governments are picking on us and it's not fair' .
Whether we like it or not the change to lead-free electronics will happen
,maybe not in 2004 as per the EC directive, but certainly at some stage in
the future. While the change may be delayed it will happen. So our focus
needs to be on alternatives, and on justifying a delay by voluntary
implementation of 'cradle to grave' type responsibility, rather than on
stating other industries are worse than us.
