Two thoughts:

Seeing as practically all electronic products already use leaded solders,
and will need to be disposed of, what steps are being taken to address the
large amount of leaded electronics already in the field??  (in the home
actually, soon to be buried in the field :-) ) Will mandatory recycling and
lead recovery of electronics be instituted?

Lead usage ( on a per product basis) should be going down, since component
sizes and device counts are going down, which decrease the size and quantity
of solder joints.
