Cory I hitch a ride with you :
Could any of the IPC folks please throw more light on this DPMO draft ; and
how does it relate to existing models (Sirius, Motorola; etc.),
and if this draft is on the way to becoming ANSI standard .
Any European equivalents ? General models ?
Can we down load it ?
Fritz did I get your address right ?
Chris ; which way to get a copy of this draft ; did try
CEO 's got this (six sigma) "dream" and I 'd prefer to start on recognized
footing ( = standardized ops) .
Comparing apples with apples (what "standard" is in use now) ?
Thanks a lot

Hello
I am in search of a standard that documents industry practice for
determining defect percentages. Our company currently uses ppm calculated
from
(# of defects) / (# of possible defects)
We are being asked by a customer to use
(# of defects) / (# of assemblies)
The numbers from the second calculation are much higher and do not give a
standardized view when comparing product A to product B.
Does anyone know of a standard that includes such information?
Thanks in advance,
Cory Steeby
