Susan:
I will have to dig out the info, but the flame retardant in the FR4 material
has, and I will probably really mess this up since I am no chemist, however
here we go . . . . . The FR4 uses Bromide Phenyls as the fire retardant . .
. when boards are scrapped and literally thrown away some how some way this
is contaminating .... people are being contaminated. It is suppose to be an
issue and we who use FR4 may have to find a different material.
Any TechNetters with more info on this please jump in at any time on this
subject. Do we, industry have to consider this as a potential 2004 problem
like Lead Free? Is Lead Free still a 2004 issue or later than 2004???
