Hi TechNetters,

Sorry to bother you, but I can't access the archives for some reason and I'm
pretty sure the answer lies there somewhere, but ...

Relative to magnet wires that are typical of coil windings:  can anyone
point me to insulation and solder criteria for these?  I know I've seen
somewhere the insulation is allowed to be in solder connections since it is
solder strippable to begin with.

Conversely, is there any defined criteria relative to how much of the
insulation can be stripped back during the soldering process?
The insulation melted back up the wire during the assembly process and now
I'm in need of page and paragraph that would allow me to accept this
condition.  The inspectors are trying to use insulation gap criteria meant
for stranded wire.
