Thanks everybody for the quick replies.  The pallets are on their way back
to the pallet manufacturer to have stainless steel strips added to the
trailing edge of the problem openings.  I will keep all informed.  The
strips will overhang the opening by about 1/16", because there is about a
quarter inch of space between the pins and the pallet opening edge.  Having
solder thieving pads built into the board would be nice, but the pins which
short are not always the same, just in the same row.  Also, I would have to
wait for the next rev. change to get them added (I may do this).  Thanks
again.  This forum is indispensable.

Just curious, have you tried using an ~ 2x elongated
(in the direction  the board travels across  the wave)
"bleed-off" pad on the trailing edge of the leaded
part footprint with a corresponding larger opening
in the fixture so the "extra" solder has somewhere
to go?
