When wavesoldering.........

We typically use Alpha 857 water soluble flux (IPA thinner) in a foam fluxer
for our commercial (non-military) boards.

On military programs that need to be compliant with J-Std-001A or B, class
3, we use Kester HF-1189A. We qualified this material IAW J-Std-001A,
Appendix D, Level 2. We have found that a localized manual spray of the flux
on the bottom of the board gives us excellent results.

We've also used this process on NASA programs requiring compliance with
NHB5300.3A-2. On these programs, we simply request approval to use this flux
from the procuring agency.
