A thought: Are we possibly jumbling our words here? UV can been used to
check some conformal coatings, maybe some flux residues, which fluoresce in
UV light, but which are not readily visible in ordinary light.
Or you could use a fluorescent strip light as opposed to a filament lamp for
ordinary illumination,
If not its back to Bev's bees..
