At a previous employer (contract - high mix, low volume), we used Kester's
1189A, an organic water soluble flux, which was very successful.  It is
aggressive - someone used to say we could solder components to wood with it
- but you do like to have this with contracting work, where the boards and
components are not always straight from the vendor/manufacturer.
