Glad somebody feels like me .

over last year I felt like a leadfree (occasional ethyl contaminations)
sponge soaking in all the sporadic papers of wisdom ;
concluded with recheck of the ITRI and IPC summaries (Christopher's sum up
on IPC leadfree site is good) ; paste mixers, etc., and ;
being hands on practicing lab rat (as Bev sees the days of our lives) ;
that reliability issues we have to start now (there's alloys/patents galore
to try as it is) .

The ol' Kaiser is very quiet on most but general LF comments ; but if we
don't have something being cycled now ; we're late as it is :

Werner ; some light on this line would be appreciated by all, please :

As we did all cycling here so far on IPC-SM-785 ; when we substitute the
63/37 with the leadfree alloys  ;
did anybody do any superimposition, running parallel beside lead some of the
other options in one mix batch load ; the same test conditions ?

If I plan to take our existing no clean SnPb ; jam in chamber another half a
dozen sets of test vehicles with the different alloy options ;
and start merrily our usual 4700 (say 5000x 0-100'C) cycles ; how far off am
I from "real" results ?

Would the comparison stand as a valid reflection of the transfer picture ?

I'll send you written legal disclaimer acknowledgment to your advice ;
promise , just don't hold back

Thanks a lot

Where is everyone? Don't tell me that all lead-free questions have been
resolved!

Are there any component folks on the group now? If so, do any of you have
any comments as to the ramifications of increasing reflow peak temps to
240C, 250C, 260C, etc.? We were discussing reliability issues a couple of
weeks ago, but I'm not sure how many questions actually were resolved.

Thank you and best regards,
