If your product and business make this a viable option have the board fab
house do the sorting. Otherwise the value chain looks like:
fab baords -- test boards -- mark X-outs -- mix X-outs into production --
ship to assembly house -- sort to segregate X-outs.

Regards,
Brad

We may be faced with a similar problem soon (installing an in-house line) so
I would like to hear what you guys do about x-outs too.

Why not just sort them out as you go, and then when you had a sufficient
quantity built up to make it worthwhile, de-panelize the good ones and run
them as a separate job?

Just a thought (from a new guy who don't know nothin'),
Jack

Currently we have no working method of telling our Quad 100
p&p machines
that a board is bad & not to place
                components on it.
We have tried placing white dots on the boards but its a bit
hit & miss,
so we just refuse to use panels with bad boards in.
This I know causes problems & a slight price rise due to the
                manufacturers waste.
