Yes,

I have used various CAD packages (Mentor, Visual, PADS, Tango, OrCAD)
including different versions of PADS.

The DOS version of PADS (Perform or Work) was not bad, easy to learn,
but when we moved to PowerPCB we lost useful features with added
instability problems.

We have switched to OrCAD Layout which works well, (more features, but
longer learning curve) and includes a gerber editor and 2D Mech. CAD
package that reads/writes DXF/DWG files.

I sympathize.
Brent
