Hi Ed,

This sounds like a good description of Chemtronics' Gold Guard.

Chemtronics
Kennesaw, GA 30152-4386
800-645-5244 or 770 424 - 4888
http://www.chemtronics.com

Here's the write up from the back of my spray can:

        Gold Guard
        The cleaner lubricant for gold and other noble metal contact and
connectors
*       Leaves protective lubricant
* Extends life of noble metal contact and connectors
* Prevents degradation of electrical signal
*       Excellent dielectric properties

        Applications
* PCB gold fingers and contacts
*       Computer interface connectors
*       Flat edge connectors
*       Precious metal contacts

        It is Plastic and Ozone Safe but it is Flammable.

        A 5 oz. spray can cost something like $5 and they sell it in larger
gallon jugs too.
