I have been asked to come up with a costing model so that we can quickly
estimate the cost of assembling a PW board. Since we are an OEM, it's not
something I've had to do for my customers and I don't know quite how to
approach it.

I can get the material cost, labor hours estimate, and I have the direct
departmental expenses. I know how many assemblies I built the last couple
of years and how many SMT and through-hole parts I've placed.

How do I take all this information and come up with a way to estimate the
cost of assembling a board? How is it done by a contract manufacturer?

Thanks for any help you can give.
