Any chip that can be flipped like a coin!?  I think when you dig into
your IC package and find the die inside. Then disconnect the gold wire
bonds from it and attach some solder balls in their place. Then turn it
upside down and use it on the board. then it will  be called a flip
chip. I guess my five year old daughter would describe it like this but
really in a sense  that's what it is.
