I agree Mike.
But maybe we should have the same price for gas as Canada or Europe. The
difference could be used to create a good passenger rail system.

Hi Kathy,
I've been reading some of the mail which has been coming across my desk
pertaining to this boycott.
I admire the effort. I live in the Phoenix area and we've experienced a ~
$.30 - $.40 increase in the last several weeks!
I am now paying ~ $1.50 for premium which unfortunately, Pontiac recommends.

The downside I see to this effort is lack of organization.
People are creatures of habit and will shop out of convenience. Or they'll
purchase the day before or the day after as necessary.

Even if you could get a couple of hundred thousand people nationwide to
boycott a particular supplier, these companies are so diversified they would
modify pricing elsewhere. As I'm sure you know, they produce many petroleum
and mining products not just gas.
If you visit Chevron's website in an instant you'll see that they produce
1.5 billion barrels of petroleum products daily, in 22 countries. And
Chevron has joint ventures with many petroleum companies worldwide i.e.
Caltex, Texaco, Standard etc. Who knows how many smaller mom and pop
retailers nationwide they supply?
I believe these huge conglomerate's are so thoroughly interrelated that it
will take quite some investigation into what "family" of suppliers to
boycott to have a real effect.
It will also take more than a day of boycotting this "family" for them to
get the message!
Hell I'm ready to do my part! However we need the organization!!

Happy Friday to you all!

Wow, that is incredibly high. We have it made in comparison to where you
are at. I really did not intend for this e-mail to go to the technet, and
apologize for sending you junk e-mail. I wish I could tell you this boycott
would help you too, but I sincerely doubt it would.

Sincerely,
Kathy Palumbo
