We currently use an electrowinning unit to remove most of the gold
from the drag-out rinse following gold plating. The unit consists of
a cylindrical inert anode surrounding a copper metallized plastic
cathode. We remove the cathode when it has about 60 oz. of gold
plated on it. You can send the cathode to a gold reclamation/refining
company. We have a high temp furnace on site so we can melt down the
cathode to ingots which give about 10% higher return from the refiner.

After the electrowinner, we use ion exchange to remove the remaining
gold to below 1ppm. The IX system consists of three 1-cubic foot
columns. We have to replace one of the columns about every six months
when it beomes spent with gold and cyanide. We send the resin off
     site for reclamation.

We use Engelhard in the Anaheim, CA for our reclamation/refining of
gold, but there are many others out there to choose from.

Contact me off-line if you would like specific information on the
     electrowinning or other equipment.

As everyone may try to recover the solution of gold drag out bath which is
immediately followed by gold plating bath.

I am thinking about options like electrowinning, carbon absorption or even
concentrated it and put the solution back to the gold bath. Do you have
this experience and I desperately look for your input.
