Albert: The simplest approach is to use a resin ion exchange column.
The unit attaches directly to your drag out tank very much like a normal
pump and filter system. It will capture about 90% of the gold in solution.
The system cost is low about $1000. The replacement resin filters are
$100-200. These units normally recover 30-50oz of gold per charge depending
on the size of the resin bed.
Talk to your gold plating supplier they should be able to furnish you with
one, if not let me know and I can give you some contacts. If you have
someone currently handling your gold scrap/reclaim they should also be able
to process the resin filter for you.
Electrowinning can require much more expensive equipment/energy/time. Carbon
absorption requires a lot of carbon/handling/mess. Concentration and return
to the bath could possibly be used but the first time you have a gold
plating or adhesion problem your not going to know what needs fixing.

If you don't use one already you may want to put a fogging rinse on your
plating tank to reduce drag out.

Subject: [TN] Gold drag out reclaim

As everyone may try to recover the solution of gold drag out bath which is
immediately followed by gold plating bath.

I am thinking about options like electrowinning, carbon absorption or even
concentrated it and put the solution back to the gold bath. Do you have
this experience and I desperately look for your input.
