The Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes wage data series by SIC code, and
they have data on professional categories. (It can be retrieved from the
Dallas regional office webpage). The "going rate" here seems to be about
$13 per hour.

You may need to contact the NY regional office for more specific data.
Looks to me that they don't have as many series posted, but they are likely
available if you can ask the NY people in the right tone of voice. I have
not found the right one to use in NY yet, though.
