Assuming your non-FFF revision change does not cause any scrap, nor production
toolings modification, the cost will be the documentation cost plus some simple
tooling cost (such as PCB production artworks that bear the rev marking).

Documentation cost involves:
- The cost of processing an ECO in your company
- The cost of updating the CAD files, gerber files, drawing revision, drawing
revision history box, ERP dbase update.
- Some company changes the respective PCB assemblies rev for some reason. That
would be a domino effect.
- The cost of distributing the ECO and the updated documentations to all the
users: Other than the PCB house, the user may be your customers, your assembly
factories, and the different production cells of your factories. It depends on
how widely your PCB is being used.

If somehow your PCB rev is declared in certain document that has the hard copies
widely circulated or published, you'd better keep the rev change to minimum.

Hope it helps.

Subject: [TN] Revision change costs

I am interested to find out how much it cost to change a revision on a
PCB. Here is the situation: A PCB is in use on a product already in
production. Say an item on the fab drawing needs to be changed - one
that does not affect form, fit, function. Some here believe that any
drawing that has left the building needs a rev change. I'd heard once
in a seminar that to change artwork on a board in production could
cost from 25K - 250K. Is this so?
     Any input is appreciated.
