Dear Techies
Thanks a lot for the above topic replies ; and the sympathy and condolences
expressed . I appreciate them all .
However on the subject itself ; I did get little to cheer me up :
Still stuck with the task of explaining why to run precisely profiled reflow
on SMD's if the repair (yes; documented, trained, etc.) does not reflect it
(and as the inquisitive one's found ; almost 80'C/sec rise IS a toll ask on
reliability initial conditions .
I did get a lot good points as : " they go through wave on bottom ; what's
the point ?" ; etc. ; still ; little of quantifiable lines .
So I presume this is one of taboos to be let to sleep and not disturbed even
by the top folks on reliability and metallurgy ;
which is kind of surprising to me ; I thought we deal with puzzles ; not
dodge them ; even if they're aired by a wise guy like me .
Therefore, I'm still in a flux of mixed feelin's ;
but if even cruise missile guidance systems are allowed iron rework ; I'd
give up if I could .
But I can't (my friendly but stern EU inspecting buddy 's coming back for
answer) ;
if any of you'd take a pity on me (for the tech reasons I mean) and release
some IRON reliability works ; papers pointers ; etc. tied with the shock
motto, on leadless mainly ;
I'd be sincerely grateful . My apologies for grinding this over ; you're
still my best hope .

Thanks a lot again
