Help! Please!
The silicone conformal coat we used for the Al wire bond protection is
obsolete. The suggested alternatives failed both reworkability and aging.
Parylene and BCB materials would be good candidates used for the
application. For various "reasons" (non technical) they are not considered
at the moment. Any suggestion on conformal coat material which can be spray
coated to the 1.25 mil Al wire bond (solvent dilution can be used if it is
required)?

I am looking for silicone resin or silicon gel type of material (stress
free), prefer thermal cure at T< 80C (not moisture activated, e.g. RTV
type. We have tried few products, the results are not very good). The
material must be optically transparent (the coating location is in the
optical path of the unit).

The operation temperature range for the unit is -55 to +125 C and it is a
high reliability product. The reworkability of the unit is required, since
the unit is very expansive. The rework requirement is localized rework only
(can not soaking the unit in solvent). Machanical or chemical localized
rework is prefered.

Thank you very much for all your help. Life is boring without occational
excitment, but it is too "exciting" for me lately. Help! Please!
