Steve,

Curious that you have shortlisted Acrylic AR and Paraxylylene XY. On what
basis?

As XY is applied by vapour deposition in a vacuum chamber, it follows that
it is being applied and cured correctly. If you apply and cure the AR
correctly, which is not always the case, then you should get comparable
results.

The difference? AR provides easier repairability, less sophisticated
application and does not fall off if applied over "no-clean". (Now that
should create something of a stir!)
