Nick: "dichloromethane" is more commonly known as Methylene Chloride. It is
an extremely aggressive hydrophobic organic solvent. Due to it's high kauri
butanol value it is a very effective cleaner/degreaser. In the past it was
used as a room temperature cleaner to remove non-water soluble contaminants
from circuit boards and other electronics. However exposure times greater
than a few minutes will result in chemical attack to both the soldermask and
laminate.
It is also used the verify the cure of soldermask. Uncured or poorly cured
mask will be breakdown within a few seconds of exposure.

Our customer from Japan requested if we use "dichloromethane"? Can anyone
help us understrand what this is and what it would be used for?
