Hello Lee,
Check IPC-2221 or IPC-2222, there is a section on scoring. I just plain
forget which one its in!!!
Or, Check out IPC EXPO Proceedings 1997 Session 10-5 & 10-6
Oversize problems may be a result of the WEB being too big and not the
location, just a though.
However, tolerances are based on material being scored as well as machine
type and setup. Material movement vs. thickness vs. methodology are all
important. I do have some questions that may aid in you determination.
Did this problem occur on the first order, or is this a mature design?
Have you recently changed fab houses?
Has the fab house changed number up per production panel?
Does the fab house have a machine or do they rely on an outside service?
Some fab houses hold a tighter tolerance than others, both in spec, just one
tighter. Large volume re-orders may result in a fab house changing their
production tools. On an outside service, the low bidder gets the work.
Just some thoughts,
JOE SENDZ............
