Hi Dean - My experience's in attempting to solder to metallic/organic
combination have been poor. The solder joints looked bad and had no thermal
cycle life (e.g. they really were not a solder joints). The molten solder
burns off the epoxy upon contact resulting in a large amount of
nonsolderable residue. I would suggest you investigate another rework
procedure with your supplier. Good Luck.

Hello technetters-

        I'm a first time caller.  Our supplier is reworking gold plated
boards
with a silver epoxy.  We are having problems with wetting in our wave
soldering process.  Is there any suggestions on what we can do to solve
"our" wetting issues?  Is this a standard for rework in the industry.
