Steve,

First, I would say you should look more into why components are flying off
when you shake an assembly!

Second, RTV stands for room temperature vulcanizing, more commonly called
silicone (like used to caulk bathtubs, etc).  Some folks don't like to use
it for electronic assemblies because it outgasses acetic acid (vinegar) as
it cures.
