Hi there

Does anyone have any views / experience of the use of vacuum packing with
desiccants as a method of long term storage of PC assemblies. The prime reason
in my case is to protect assemblies which contain plastic encapsulated
components from moisture absorption and the associated failure mechanisms.
Conformal coating is also being considered however this wouldn't provide a
complete barrier to moisture ingress. How moisture proof are vapour proof bags
? Are they covered by any specific MIL / BS specs ?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
