Suggest you also equip yourself with a small trolley and a long length of
pipe. Put meter on trolley and connect your pipe hangin out the front like an
old fashioned knight at a jousting session. Advance the other end of the pipe
in stages down your oven and plot your ppms. Naturally your pipe will be at
conveyor level and you will end up with a helpful prifle of ppm analgous to
your thermal reflow profile. Its interesting to see the reuslts of doing this
against N2 flow rates etc, - spots leaks, shows if you are wasting N2 by
trying to keep ppms low in unnecessary zones and so on. (also its sometimes
quite amazing when you compare ppm measured this way against that from the m/c
sampling points......)
This is a slow process so I would not build it into a daily routine.
