Michael,
If the electromagnetic wave is traveling in parallel on the nickel the loss
will be given mainly by resistivity, frequency, and surface roughness but if
the wave is traveling so it impinges onto the nickel surface, lthe loss wil
be 99.9% refective and that loss can be 80-90 dB if the thickness is 3 x the
classical skin depth thickness.
