I don't know about a spec,
        but call Nordson or PVA (I've heard of other brands, but never used
them) and get a robotic spray system that doesn't need masking. I've seen
few assemblies that can't be sprayed with this kind of system.

Louis,

Your customer specification ought to tell you whether a coating is required
or not. Generally they do.

You state that the circuit is small and there is a lot of masking (and
therefore de-masking) involved before spraying. How about brushing the
coating?
As an alternative, you could try using a small dispenser such as EFD with
the syringe pre-loaded with the coating material.

Furthermore, I would expect that the coating has to qualified to the US
MIL-I-46058. If so, these must contain a UV tracer to aid inspection. So,
if
you do this coating work under a black (UV) light source, then you can see
very clearly where you are putting it - and where you shouldn't!!
